I was featured on THE VEGAN SLUT BLOG, go follow this up and coming vegan lifestyle blog!
I have decided that once every month, I am going to feature a personal style profile about a different vegan. I know so many stylish vegans, and it is nice to get a style perspective from someone who dresses totally different than me sometimes.
I hope you all enjoy!
xoxoName: Jillian Costa
Age: 21
Location: Vancouver, Canada(but soon to be in Toronto)Outfit: I normally wear all black and on any given day I am probably wearing a wife-beater/tanktop but I do like to put a little effort into making it look stylish, whether it be a blazer, cardigan, thigh highs and boots.
Today I wore, a black wife-beater, topped with my worn out denim jacket ( that has lots of vegan related pins and patches on it ), black lamé leggings, PLEATHER knee high boots and a large red PLEATHER purse that I can fit a lot of things in!Makeup:
- Colour Supplement Foundation from Lush- $15.95
- Tarte Amazonian Clay Bronzer & Blush- $29.00 & $25.00
- E.L.F. Mascara- $3.00
- Urban Decay 24/7 Liquid Eyeliner- $19.00
- Lime Crime Candy Apple Lipgloss- $16.99
- E.L.F. Red Lipstick- $1.00
- and my ALL TIME FAVOURITE, Urban Decay Lipstick in Confession- $22.00
Now, I normally order from ELF because they are super cheap, completely vegan and I can get everything I need for under $20 but over Christmas I got Sephora gift cards and splurged on make up.
Shower Products:
- Lush Dream Wash Shower Smoothie- $21.95 ,which is very calming and makes me feel relaxed. It is full of essential oils like Camomile and Lavender.
- Lush Shampoo and Conditioner “I love Juicy and Vegenese”- $29.95 each, It makes my hair smell like a garden of fruit and candy.
- Pureology Hydrate Shampoo and Conditioner- $35.00, is so amazing for damaged/coloured hair and helps to restore it. Right on the front of the bottle it says 100% vegan too!
Favorite Dishes to Make:
- Savory Pie-
Filling made with blended up raw cashews(soaked for an hour prior), tofu, soy creamer(optional), spices, nutritional yeast. Sautee up any veggies you want and mix in, pour into pie shell, top with daiya and bake for 30-45 mins on 350.- Banana cupcakes with peanut butter icing and chocolate ganache on top.
Not all vegans wear billowy hemp clothing or smell like patchouli.
I suggest everyone invest in Lush products, order ELF make-up, wear pleather, animal prints instead of animal skin, follow vegan blogs, findingvegan.com, etc etc and maybe pick up some vegan cookbooks.
Being vegan is the best thing that has ever happened to me and I am still constantly learning new things and even making friends because of it.(If you would like to be featured in a style profile contact me by email. theveganslut@gmail.com)
